Today we are discussing three different ways to make money. The first is trading time for money. This includes employees and self-employed people usually; work an hour, get paid for an hour. The problem with this is, if you are salaried, you’ll get to work extra hours for free.

The next way to make money is by using your creative ideas and talents. People who are inventors, artists, programmers can fall into this group. However, sometimes they also all into the trading time for money category as well.

The cleverest of us will learn how to leverage resources and other people. These are usually business people, leaders, and people who use and/or create systems that get a lot of work done for them without them having to spend significant time themselves.

Let’s focus on leveraging your talents. Anybody can get a job. It’s what most of us were taught and all we know. Stepping outside the box we can try new ways of living.

If you are a professional, have you ever explored writing an e-book about your field of expertise? If well written, it could provide a new income stream, instead of you selling out your time serving your clients. The effect is leveraged once you build your automatic system for making the transaction and advertising.

You can repeat the process each time you create new information products. After time you could build a membership site and offer all of your great products and ideas to loyal customers that will pay a small monthly fee to have access to your great information.

How about a computer programmer? You can come out with your own revolutionary product instead of selling your ideas to the company you work for. How about making a small utility program that helps out internet entrepreneurs? You could design an easy to use program that generates friends in multiple Web 2.0 sites.

How about real estate, instead of selling houses, you can pool financial sources to buy houses cheap, increase their value and sell them off at a higher price. It just takes a little time and research to find good ideas and locations. And watch the market so you can time your purchases for gain, not loss.

Is money a problem? Seek out loans if you can take the risk. Pool money from many investors or seek a grant. The sky is the limit when it comes to making money.

Sometimes your credit card company will offer short term, no interest loans for about 6 months. This might be a great way to generate short term cash for a specific project. However, do not take this offer if you are not able to pay it off before the due date. The interest penalty is usually huge and defeats the purpose of making money.

So once you’ve decided on a way to have time and money then you are free to explore the creative ideas category to its fullest. You’ll have the time and money to do it.

Life is pretty darn short. And your kids grow up quickly. I don’t know about you but I want to live my life now and when I’m 65 and a half. If you are looking you will find ways to join the having time and money crown, the new rich. See you there!

Again, which way do you want to achieve wealth? Well, it is totally your choice.

Single mothers who did not finish higher education would most likely end up getting low income jobs. Welfare reform policies have also contributed to the financial instability and poverty that these single mothers are experiencing. In general, these welfare reform policies just encourage work and not education. Education is more important because it can help the single mother to get higher paying jobs.
Lawmakers are blinded by the fact that there are a lot of single mothers who are struggling at their work only to gain a little salary that is not even enough to meet the needs of the child. Good thing, new policies are submitted that will address the need for education of single mothers. This will counter the welfare reforms that promote work for the sake of having a work and disregarding education. Education is truly an important factor in landing to a higher paying job.
Low Income Single Mothers still Remain at the BottomA big percentage of single mothers have a low income that is not enough to provide all the needs of their child. Actually, there are three subdivided categories for single mothers who are working with a low income. The groups would be poverty cyclers, poverty leavers, and poverty returners. A single mother falls under the category of poverty cyclers when the income remains low and the poverty that is being experienced may have periods of remissions and exacerbations. As for the poverty leavers, they are single mothers who are able to leave poverty and completely stay out from it. This is the opposite of poverty returners who left poverty and returned and completely drown from it.
Because of the emergence of these three groups, a statistical study was conducted to determine what could have caused the incidents, especially for poverty leavers and poverty returners who have similar wages from the point that they have left poverty. The important finding in this study is that single mothers who are educated or who have received proper education were the ones who were able to completely leave poverty behind. Success comes after education. Aside from that, these poverty leavers are also physically healthier than poverty returners. Thus, adequate education and proper health care are two of the most important factors to become successful and leave poverty completely.
Aside from the two mentioned, there are also some minor contributing factors to poverty. One example would be having a healthy support system. Single mothers who have a healthy support system either from family members or support groups are more likely to be successful than those who do not receive any support. On the other hand, single mothers who married are also more likely to completely leave poverty behind.
The average monthly income for single mothers who leave poverty completely is $3,000. Those who are struggling in poverty are earning at least $1,000 a month while poverty cyclers are earning with an average of $2,000 a month.
Quality Small Income Work can help in Leaving Poverty
Obviously, single mothers who have a stable job earn more. They are also the ones who are provided with health care benefits and insurance through their employers. Through these opportunities, they are more likely to leave poverty behind. Usually, single mothers who are successful in leaving poverty are professionals and those who have an adept knowledge in the technical field. Single mothers who are in the field of production are less
likely to leave poverty but this field is the one that is being promoted and encouraged by the welfare reform programs. Single mothers working in the field of production are also those who are not educated or did not receive a higher form of education. Thus, education is really helpful in the success of single mothers.
Single mothers who are struggling to survive poverty and those who are experiencing periods of remission and exacerbations when it comes to poverty often work in the production and service industry. A good example would be single mothers working in a seasonal restaurant. The largest sector in the service industry is primarily food service. Aside from that, construction jobs are also dominated by poverty returners and poverty cyclers.
With all the mentioned facts, it is very evident that in order to escape poverty, education is required.

Whether one becomes a single parent because of a bad relationship, by divorce, by adoption, you become a widow or by circumstance, depression can sneak up on you.
Although we know that children are a blessing from the Lord, sometimes it can be a struggle to keep up with the day to day routine of managing the care and providing for one or more children. For every area in which you may consider to be negative, think about changing your frame of mind to make it a positive experience.
Focus on Positive Things
OK, I understand that 2010 may have not been a wonderful year for you. But, please don’t go into the New Year being depressed about everything that went wrong in 2010. If you continue to focus on negative things and the past, then your mind will never be open to hope, faith and the positive things that could happen in your life. We should focus on positive things because the Bible tells us too.
But, also because our children can tell when we are not happy or depressed. They may ask the innocent question, “Mommie, is something wrong?” or “Daddy, why do you have a sad face?” Well, you may ask the question, how can I focus on positive things and why. Well, once again, the Bible can address this question. Philippians 4:8 tells us to: “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Verse 9 tells us that if you do the things that you have learned and heard, the things that were talked about in Philippians 4, then the God of peace shall be with you.

Therefore, don’t continue to be depressed. Use the above advice and focus on positive things. You will see a change in your life and will no longer feel like a “Depressed Single Parent”.

All too often a lot of single moms feel that they have to be “super mom” and not expect or ask for any help. If you are among the super moms, you run a great risk of parenting burn out. We are all human and we all fall short of “doing it all” at some point. Hey, it’s tough enough raising kids as a 2-parent family. That goes double for single parents, especially single moms raising 2 or more children.
So, it is OK to ask for help or support when you’re trying to raise 2 or more kids? It’s not only OK, it is suggested. Remember as a single mom, you have to work hard to bring home the bacon without depending on any child support, whether you are receiving it or not. You never know when that money will run out.
You also have to raise your kids to be compassionate and responsible adults. That’s not an easy task in today’s world. For single moms it is quite the challenge. You are responsible for your child’s schooling, the clothes they wear, the food they eat, and also the air they breathe. Let’s face it, anyway you look at it, that’s a tall order for any single mom raising 2 or more kids.
For the moms out there that don’t think they are “super mom” and are not reluctant at seeking advice, there are a lot of practical things you can do for support in general, financially or otherwise.

Let’s take a look at 6 of those things

* Take good care of yourself – There is so much more to this than one might think. Pay attention to your body and mind. You have to first take care of yourself in order to take care of your kids. Exercise daily. Eat right and drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated. Get plenty of sleep. Watch your stress levels and try to avoid it at all costs. Smile, try it! It helps relieve stress.

* Join parenting network support groups – These can be in the form of online message boards, support websites, online chat groups, offline support group centers, and your church community.

* Start a parenting journal – This will strictly be for you as a parent and should be kept private. Writing in a journal can be quite therapeutic for some people. You can write about specific goals about parenting, anger management, and even special goals for yourself.

* Consider a roommate – Save a considerable amount of money on living expenses and have companionship at the same time. You will also have someone to swap babysit dates with. Your roommate will watch all the kids for one day, and then you take your turn at it. Beautiful concept if you are all for having a roommate. Some people like living alone and is a preference.

* Always show your love – Of course it’s crucial to your child that they know you love them. But there are special ways of showing your love. Give plenty of hugs, kids love them! Write a special message on a piece of paper and hide it in their school bag or lunch box. Show positive praise. Positive comments and encouragement goes a long way with your child’s self esteem and confidence.

* Discipline – Most often discipline is the most sought after advice for single moms. One important thing I have learned personally is controlling anger. If your child sees you angry while trying to discipline them, this gives them leverage to push your buttons even further. If you don’t get a handle on controlling your anger, you are sunk before you even begin.

“Stick to your guns” is also a famous motto you should always practice. If you tell your child one thing and then back out on it, what good is discipline in the first place?

Use your gut instincts with parenting and stay true to what you believe is the right thing for your children.

Being a single mom is tough work and will definitely keep you busy. Anything that you can do that can save a few hours, or even an extra trip to the store can be helpful. You may not spend too much time online while you’re at home because of the cooking, cleaning, kid watching, and all of your other responsibilities, but sometimes it can pay to do some online shopping.

The first reason why online shopping is the right choice for single moms is because you can do it at a time that’s convenient for you. It’s not as if you can leave your house and go to the mall when the kids are asleep. But once you put them to bed you can hop online and online shop to your heart’s content. You won’t have to pack everyone up into the car just to go to the store, or pay a babysitter so you can get some shopping done without being pestered by your kids.

The next characteristic of online shopping that single moms will love is that items are shipped right to your door. This is especially helpful if you work from home, as you’ll be there all day for packages to arrive. There’s even ways to shop returns right back to the place you got it from directly from your home. Just schedule the USPS to pickup the package from your home and they’ll whisk it away if you don’t like it once you get it.

Cost savings is the next factor that gets single moms to sing praises for online shopping. Many times you can find great deals online that can’t be found in stores. Amazon even offers most everything under the sun you could want to take care of your kids. You’ll find diapers, diaper cream, baby lotion, cotton swabs, wipes, bibs, cribs, strollers, car seats, baby rockers, high chairs, booster chairs, baby bathtubs, baby shampoo, baby bath towels, and more at prices that fit your budget.

And even if you want to buy things in the real world the Internet is a great way to comparison shop before you make your purchase so that you can buy with confidence. Before online shopping you had to basically take the store’s price, or shop around as well as you could with the handful of stores in your local area. Now you can literally get prices from hundreds of shops all organized from lowest to highest with a few presses of the keys on your computer. You’ll know just how much a product should cost and you’ll know if you’re getting a good deal or not.

Busy moms love online shopping and the convenience it brings. It’s just one more reason why being a single mom is now better than ever!

Motherhood and entrepreneurship complement each other in many ways. If you are thinking about starting up your own home based business for moms, you have to first research what it is that moms are looking for in a career. Find a business that is right for you and that will work well within your family dynamic. Starting a business out of your home might seem overwhelming at first. Look for support from other moms who have done the same thing and make them your mentor for success.

Step 1

Write out a list of home-based business ideas for mothers. Entrepreneur, an online business resource, has a “Mompreneur Center” section containing research and ideas centered around work at home moms. Some business ideas for moms include graphic design, wedding planning and craft businesses. If you enjoy watching children, a day care center could be an appropriate business to start. You could employ other mothers and encourage them to bring their children.

Step 2

Develop a business plan for your new home-based business. If you need outside capital to begin your new business, a descriptive business plan can help you present your business to investors. Preparing a plan will also give you an idea of how much money your business will have to make before you start making a return on your investment. It will also show you how to position yourself within the market to be competitive with other local businesses.

Step 3

Pick a business name, if you choose to use a name other than your own, and register it with your secretary of state. The fees for filing for a “Doing Business As” or “Trade Name” differ by state.

Step 4

Complete paperwork for any licenses and permits you need to obtain to run your business. Start by visiting your state’s department of revenue website if you need to obtain a sales tax identification number for selling a product. Go to the Internal Revenue Service website and register for an Employer Identification Number to be used when filing your business taxes. Visit your city government offices to complete paperwork for obtaining a general business license to operate your business in your city. Certain businesses, such as day care or baking in your home, will require a home inspection to ensure that you are operating your business in a clean, approved area.

Step 5

Find customers for your business. Use the marketing portion of your business plan to develop a campaign to get people to spend their money with you. Run ads with local media outlets to get your name announced in the area. Advertise online and through social media sources to bring in business and interact with your customers. Give discounts to customers that refer your business to others. Attracting and maintaining customers is crucial to keeping your business operating smoothly. Offer great customer support and your customers will often be your greatest source of advertisement.

Parenting a toddler is enjoyable! Okay, it is not as enjoyable as you initial imagined it might be. There will be a lot of tolerance needed in our part – yet you cannot deny it, the feeling is rather superb. Merely realizing your child depends exclusively on you and you have the ability to shape him as you like.

With toddlers, what appear to be the common problem? Virtually all toddlers embark on some biting between their first and third birthdays. Just about the most typical purpose is that it is one of the couple of means of communicating which is effective for them, before verbal skills are developed. However, not every toddlers bite. Several choose other types of communication, just like grabbing, pushing, or punching.

One more reason toddlers bite is to communicate stress, a feeling which is common with toddlers, for the reason that both their interaction capabilities and their motor skills are so minimal.

To a toddler it can be hilarious to find out mother suddenly bolt upright or for a playmate to get started on crying. Tots could also bite because they are teething or because they put everything in their mouths anyway, so why not someone’s arm? It might even be something as simple as desire for food.

But how does one coach your toddler not to bite? Make it perfectly evident that the biting is unkind, inappropriate and emphasize your kids the amount discomfort their biting is responsible for. Convey that biting is wrong and improper and that neither mommy or daddy enjoy it.

If you discover that your toddler is biting out of frustration, attempt providing them with an alternative to convey to individuals they are having a difficult time. Even though language is a complicated job at this time, most toddlers should be tutored words and phrases which have been ideal for such a condition. For instance, “You need to notify mommy or daddy that you need help and not bite us,” or “Show mommy what exactly you need, but don’t bite. You will hurt her if you bite and I know you won’t want to hurt mommy, do you?”

Experts acknowledge that dad and mom need not to give biting so much care that it gets an attention-getter. This is true of all behavior you don’t need to see repeated. Firmly explain to the child just as before that there’s no biting granted, that it is wrong, and that it wounds persons.

Single parents have a dual role to play. You need to be a mom as well as a dad to your baby. Besides ensuring that your child grows up well, you also need to take care of the other issues as well. Attending PTAs, classes and going for trips are some of the things that you will have to do. So, most of the time you will find yourself in your car, taking your baby to different places.

Traveling in a vehicle comes with a host of hazards. This means you have to take the necessary precautions in order to keep him or her safe. One of the best places to start is by purchasing a car seat like the Safety 1st onBoard 35 Infant Car Seat.

Thankfully, as far as the car seats are concerned, these days there are millions of choices available. But still, you need to pick the right one. There are infant car seats and convertibles that come in different shapes and sizes. These seats like the Safety 1st onBoard 35 Infant Car Seat cater to infants and toddlers. Depending on your child’s needs and preferences, you can choose the one that suits you the best. The child should have a seat that matches their height and weight because a seat that doesn’t fit well will not protect your child during accidents and other mishaps.

So before you make a snap decision we recommend looking over the tips here today. First of all; there are a lot of car seats that don’t get tested for accidents. They might look great, but their durability could be lacking. The Safety 1st onBoard 35 Infant Car Seat has been tried and tested to provide the utmost safety for your child. It’s also important to look at things like weight, size, comfort, and security.

The best kind of car seats are easy to install and can be adjusted easily. Some seats can be used for a longer period of time and can be adjusted depending on the growth of the baby. Always ensure that the head area of the seat has a good amount of padding to minimize any impact. Sturdy and user friendly seats are the best bet for your little one.

All car seats have different kinds of locks. When you examine these it’s important to make sure the lock is easy to open by an adult in case of emergency. While this is true it shouldn’t be easily accessible for the baby to play with and accidentally unlock themselves. We also recommend making sure it offers impact protection for a substantial amount of conditions.

In the end we know your decision will come down to price. Single parents are normally limited with funds, so the car seat has to be affordable and hassle-free. Take the time to look for a “rough and tough” car seat that is kid proof. Once you find this you can start comparing prices before making your final decision. Just make sure the Safety 1st onBoard 35 is a viable option.

The concept of single parenting has been around for quite some time now. Single parenting can be a result of a broken marriage, the loss of a partner or individuals choosing to be single parents without getting into the bond of marriage. There are several single parents who are trying to strike a balance between their professional and family life. Being a single parent can be very taxing at times and not knowing how to cope with the emotional stress, can take a heavy toll on your personal as well professional life. It can also be equally stressful for the children, to cope with single parenting. Awareness and knowledge about single parenting facts can be helpful for those entering into single parenting and even those who are already single parents.

Facts About Single Parenting – Pros

The myth that, children brought up by single parents often feel lonely and isolated, has been proved wrong. It has been observed that such children, if raised to be independent and confident, lead a very normal life and also succeed professionally.

Children of those single parents who have separated and moved on are often happy to see their parents happy, rather see them fight and argue daily. Such children do not develop behavioral disorders, unlike other children whose parents are constantly fighting.

Single parenting will also enable the parent to from a firmer bond with the child, to spend more quality time, to instill all the morals and values that the parent believes in and to communicate well.

Children of single parents learn to take responsibility at an early age, by helping around the household and helping with the daily chores. They also become independent sooner and learn to deal with difficult situations well.

If a single parent is in good and cordial terms with the former spouse, the child will have the scope of experiencing two different approaches towards life, which means a greater learning experience, as far as his/her life is concerned.

One of the most important single parenting facts is, that children of single parents would be more understanding towards their spouse and even towards their children.

Facts About Single Parenting – Cons

The worst part of single parenting that results from divorce or the loss of a spouse is, the emotional trauma that the parent and children would have to go through. However, with the help of the support from family members and some counseling, coping with the situation can be made easier.

The next factor would be the guilt faced by the single parent, of not being able to provide a two-parent, ‘normal’ home to the child. Also, many single working parents suffer from the guilt of neglecting their child, due to excessive workload. Such children, who feel neglected and less cared for, may develop behavioral problems.

Single parents and their children may also be looked down upon, socially. Children may also face mocking by their peers and may give into pressure, to be accepted by their friends. Such children often take to anti-social behavior like drug addiction, alcoholism and smoking.

An important single parent fact is, the financial burden that they would have to bear. Many times, single parents, especially single moms, may not be able to bear the financial burden which may be stressful for both the parent and the children.

Single parents with toddlers or pre-school aged children may find it difficult to handle their children all by themselves. It may be difficult for them to shuttle between their work, daycare and school. Due to their work commitments, they may not be able to spend quality time with the child.

These single parenting facts are in no way intended to discourage people from taking it up. In fact, single parenting can be an overwhelming experience, provided you plan accordingly, set rules and limitations for your children, like any other two-parent home and most importantly, bring them up with all the necessary love, care and affection!
